Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski on Tuesday discussed with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte the risk of a significant escalation of hostilities on the front line and stressed the need to take measures to “give an adequate response” to the situation.
“I have had a telephone conversation with the Prime Minister of the Netherlands, Mark Rutte. He has discussed the risk of an increase in fighting and the potential challenge this poses, as well as the need to defend ourselves and launch an adequate response,” Zelenski has asserted in a message broadcast via his Telegram account.
Rutte, for his part, has pointed out that the Netherlands “will do everything possible to help Ukraine not only to defend itself but to win the war.” “Ukraine has been resisting this barbaric invasion by Russia for almost a year. The next few months will be decisive. I have spoken to President Zelenski and assured him that we will do everything in our power,” he said on his Twitter account.
